Sitinur Mokhtar chairs ODELA. A lawyer by profession, she has spent two decades in business, and in 2010 she led JNJ Group through a major turnaround.

That turnaround is where her story with ODELA begins. The JNJ Group she steered through 2010 now plays a leading role in human capital development in Malaysia, across entrepreneurship development, B40 community development and ecosystem building, delivering complex programmes at speed and scale for corporate and government sectors. She is its Group Executive Chairman.

It is also the group that launched ODELA with SME Bank and its subsidiary CEDAR on 3 December 2019, as part of the National SME Digital Platform. As Chair, she now chairs the platform behind SPOT, which turns a company’s own documents into a credibility report that banks and government-linked companies can trace back to the source page.

Her work reaches beyond Malaysia. In March 2023 she travelled to Jakarta with Fauziah Husain and JNJ Group’s Deputy President for the signing of Digital Serumpun, a Malaysia and Indonesia digital entrepreneurship community platform, witnessed by Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.

Closer to home, in November 2023 she attended the closing of PUNB JumPER GREAT 2023, a graduate entrepreneurship programme.

Fauziah Husain was already leading JNJ Group when ODELA launched in 2019. Today, as CEO, she leads the work of helping Malaysian SMEs prove their credibility through SPOT.

On 3 December 2019, SME Bank launched ODELA with JNJ Group as its partner, and Fauziah was there as JNJ’s Group CEO. She framed the platform as a promise to the businesses it was built for.

“ODELA is our commitment to drive the SME growth and nurture them to be more competitive in the market.”

She presented SPOT, the Single Point of Truth, as the digital identity of a business.

“Managing a business through ODELA will enable the merchant to create the Single Point of Truth (SPOT) which is the digital ID of a business.”

In 2024 the SPOT engine went live and ODELA moved from a B2B platform to an enterprise verification platform. Today a business builds that identity from its own documents and receives a credibility report on its financial position, capability, ownership and compliance, in a form banks and government-linked companies can use when they assess financing readiness. Micro SPOT is the lighter version for sole proprietors.

Her approach, as her official JNJ Group biography puts it, is a transformational mindset: turning challenges into opportunities. At JNJ it has shaped policy work in human capital development and national programmes delivered at speed and scale. Her advice to SMEs is just as practical: build the team first, then let technology multiply it.

How it came together

  1. 3 December 2019

    ODELA launched

    SME Bank, through CEDAR, launched ODELA with JNJ Group as part of the National SME Digital Platform.

  2. March 2023

    Digital Serumpun

    JNJ Group signed a Malaysia and Indonesia digital entrepreneurship platform in Jakarta, with both leaders present.

  3. 2024

    SPOT launched

    ODELA’s own timeline marks the SPOT engine as its shift from a B2B platform to an enterprise verification platform.
